Rubber Spot rubber hits Rs 135/kg Aravindan Kottayam, May 26 Rubber prices shot up on Monday. Supply concerns and firm international indices continued to catalyse the domestic bull phase. RSS 4 flared up sharply to Rs 135 from Rs 130 a kg as covering groups and purchase agents kept the market mood on fire. The transactions were low. A leading tyre manufacturer was buyer on sheet rubber at the quoted level but failed to procure the raw material as there were no sellers on the grade, sources said. “We are very much conscious about the domestic and international trends and modern technology is so fast enough to provide us immediate information necessary for trading ”, a planter told Business Line. The May contract for RSS 3 expired marginally weak at ¥323 (Rs 133.42) against ¥325.9 a kg while its June futures flared up to ¥335 (326.3) (Rs 138.30), July to ¥337.1 (327.2), August to ¥338.2 (327.8), September to ¥339.2 (328.4) and October to ¥339.4 (330) a kg at TOCOM. The grade improved to Rs 134.31 (132.79) a kg at Bangkok (spot). Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 135 (130); RSS-5: 130 (125)’ ungraded: 124 (121); ISNR 20: 123.50 (122) and latex 60 per cent: 85 (83.50). More Stories on : Rubber
