Hyderabad, May 26 The China National Tobacco Corporation has invited tobacco exporters and growers to visit China especially Shenzhen Province to know about trends and opportunities in the industry.

Addressing the members of the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), Mr Wu Jianrong, Deputy General Manager, China National Tobacco Corporation, said, “The delegation is in Hyderabad to study the tobacco leaf market, exchange technology management and for strengthening mutual understanding between China and India.”

A release from the Federation said that, Mr K. Harishchandra Prasad, Vice-President, FAPCCI, hoped that the recent signing of Protocol on phytosanitary norms between the two countries will pave a way for India’s export of tobacco to China.

“There is a potential to export 15 to 20 million kgs of tobacco to China in the coming couple of years with the major beneficiaries being from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka,” he said.
