Maytas Infra wins power project

Hyderabad, May 27

Maytas Infra Ltd has been awarded an estimated Rs 650-crore washery reject, coal-based power plant contract of 120 MW capacity. The Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure company will be the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor for the project touted to be the first to run exclusively on washery reject coal fuel. The power plant contract has been entrusted to Maytas Infra by Gupta Energy Private Limited, a Nagpur-based, infrastructure and pow er company. To be set up in Chandrapur district in Vidarbha region of Maharastra, the project is expected to be completed in two stages. The first stage would be a 60-MW unit to be commissioned in 20 months and the second 60-MW unit in 22 months, a press release from Maytas Infra said here today. The CEO, Mr P.K. Madhav, said “This is a new kind of technology being adopted by us. The project will also see the highest efficiency, standards of safety and meet the environmental norms”. —
