Mangalore, May 28 INAT Technologies, a 100 per cent EOU subsidiary of the UK-based I Technologies, has started its operations at NITK-STEP (National Institute of Technology Karnataka – Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park) at Surathkal near Mangalore.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Mr Flavian D’Souza, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, said that INAT at Surathkal will focus on providing low-cost strategic IT (information technology) solutions to domestic and international markets.

Eyes rural talent

Stating that the company has vast domain experience in the financial industry space, Mr D’Souza said it intends to use the vast rural talent pool available along coastal Karnataka to provide low-cost IT services to domestic and global markets.

The company, which has appointed 30 people for its operations here, is planning to reach 60-member mark in a month.

Explaining about the low-cost model with its presence in semi-urban areas, he said the company envisages a cost saving of up to 30 per cent for domestic clients compared with the costs in Tier-I and Tier-II cities.

It envisages a cost saving of up to 45 per cent for global clients outside India compared with the Tier-I cites.

The company is planning to expand its units in semi-urban and rural areas, he said.

Highlighting the plans for the next 18 months, Mr D’Souza said the company is planning to train and recruit 3,000 people.
