MSTC in pact with Coal India

Kolkata, May 27

MSTC Ltd will act as a service provider for Coal India Ltd's e-tendering and reverse auction services. CIL and MSTC have recently entered into a firm agreement in this regard. CIL is estimated to procure equipment, consumables, spare parts and others worth approximately Rs 3,400 crore during the first year of e-procurement in 2008-09.

According to a CIL press release, MSTC was selected as service provider through a competitive bidding process. As part of its bid to introduce a more transparent and efficient procurement system, the coal major already entered into integrity pacts with its vendors. The initiative may help avoid delays in large-scale global procurement for all its contracts. - Our Bureau
