People Kamlesh Bajaj is CEO of Data Security Council Our Bureau New Delhi, May 28 Software association Nasscom on Wednesday announced the appointment of Dr Kamlesh Bajaj as CEO of Data Security Council of India (DSCI), and head of its security initiatives. DSCI, operating under the aegis of Nasscom, is a self-regulatory initiative in data security and privacy protection for the IT industry. “Dr Bajaj’s experience will add immense value to this effort by Nasscom and the industry. The DSCI has covered considerable ground since its inception and we see Dr Bajaj’s experience contributing significantly to taking this to the next level, as the organisation grows and takes up additional initiatives and responsibilities,” Mr Som Mittal, President of Nasscom, said in a statement. Dr Bajaj brings over 30 years of experience in various roles within the IT industry. Prior to joining Nasscom, he was global head (Information Risk Management and Managed Security Services), Global Consulting Practice, with TCS. He was the founder director of Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), Ministry of Communications and IT. Dr Bajaj has been the Deputy Controller of Certifying Authorities, where he was responsible for establishing techno-legal framework for public key infrastructure. He has also served as Deputy Director General, National Informatics Centre (NIC). Mr Shyamal Ghosh, Chairman of DSCI said, “Having worked extensively with the Government and industry, Dr Bajaj’s perspectives and contribution to DSCI and the initiative will be critical.” More Stories on : People | Security
