Consensus on 3G policy

New Delhi, May 28 The Communications and IT Minister, Mr A. Raja, said that there was a broad consensus between his Ministry and the Finance Ministry on the third generation mobile policy issues.

Mr Raja met the Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, to thrash out the issues relating to spectrum allocation and potential revenue generation.

“There is a broad consensus on issues concerning 3G telephony (between telecom and Finance Ministries). But the final decision will be taken after another round of meeting with the Finance Minister,” Mr Raja told reporters after the meeting.
