Events States - Tamil Nadu Insurance agents gearing up for million-dollar club meet L.N. Revathy Coimbatore, May 30 The 2008 MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) meet is slated between June 22 and 26 at Toronto in Canada. The theme of the conference this year is ‘Changing Lives’. With just three weeks left for this annual conference of financial services professionals, the MDRT members, who qualify for the 2008 Table Association are gearing up to attend the event. Mr Srinivasan, Zone Chair, MDRT MCC (Membership Communication Committee) said that the first year premium earnings for MDRT qualifiers has been raised from Rs 27,14,400 in 2008 to Rs 30,36,400 in 2009. Likewise, the first year commission earnings has also been increased to Rs 7,59,100 from Rs 6,78,600 in 2008. The zone recorded the fastest growth in membership from 2,900 last year to over 5,000 this year. “Only about one-tenth of the qualifiers would attend the conference,” Mr Srinivasan said. To facilitate life insurance agents and financial services professionals making it to the MDRT annual event, Life Insurance Corporation’s marketing personnel mooted the ‘Life Underwriters Guild of India’ (LUGI) in 2002. “Today, it is among the national organisations accredited by MDRT. Initially, only about 212 professionals registered with LUGI. The number has risen to over 5,600 over the last 5 years,” he told Business Line. More Stories on : Events | Insurance | Tamil Nadu
