Bartronics to issue bar coded tokens for fish medicine

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, May 30 For thousands of people suffering from asthma who throng Hyderabad on June 7 to have fish ‘prasadam’ (actually a medicine) administered by the Bathini family here, an IT intervention could make things easier this year.

Bartronics, a Hyderabad-based IT company, would help issue bar coded tokens to streamline the entire process of administering of the fish medicine.

What was tested as a pilot project last year will now be enhanced to all those who come to Hyderabad for fish medicine, according to company.

The distribution of fish prasadam (small murrel fish with medicine), an annual feature over several decades, would now be done through issue of advance tokens to be handed over through six centres in 10 counters.

The Hyderabad district administration has chosen Bartronics to regulate the distribution of prasadams for which elaborate security and travel arrangements have been made.

These bar coded tokens indicate time slot for each individual to visit the place and take the prasadam. It will be administered through 33 counters and about 1.5 lakh Korrameenu (Murrel) variety fish is being arranged.

Crowd management

Bartronics had earlier successfully deployed crowd management systems in pilgrim centres of Tirupati, Baidyanath and Vaishnodevi. These temples attract lakhs of devotees, which call for streamlining pilgrim traffic and cutting short their waiting period for darshan.

The company has also executed a similar solution for the Passport Office at Hyderabad for queue management where bar coded tokens are issued.
