Research & Development Agri-Biz & Commodities - Plantations Cadbury India, TNAU ink pact Our Bureau Coimbatore, May 31 India’s leading confectionary company Cadbury India Ltd has tied up with the Tamilnadu Agricultural University (TNAU) to jointly promote research and development in in cocoa cultivation. An agreement for the collaborative research was signed here on Friday between the University and Cadbury India. The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr C. Ramasamy, and Mr K.P. Magudapathy, Associate Vice-President, Cadbury India, were among those present on the occasion. The collaborative research project, to be operated from the TNAU campus here, is aimed at developing high-yielding, disease-free cocoa varieties suitable to Tamil Nadu agro climatic condition. According to an official communication released by the University, Cadbury India will give Rs 50 lakh as financial support to the R&D over the next five-year period.
