Tie-up for e-commerce service

Mangalore, June 1

Karnataka Bank Ltd has signed an agreement with Indiaideas.com (Billdesk) for payment gateway services. A payment gateway is an e-commerce service through a service provider (Billdesk), who would provide a platform for payments of e-businesses, online reservations, bill payments etc. A bank release said here that the Chief General Manager of the bank, Mr P. Jayarama Bhat, and the Director of IndiaIdeas, Mr M.N. Srinivasu, signed the agreement in Mumbai recently. The tie-up would enable the bank’s Internet banking customers to book air tickets, pay insurance premium of MetLife Insurance Company, buy mutual fund products of Franklin Templeton Asset Management, pay telephone and electricity bills or donate to charity. The bank proposes to offer a lot more technology-driven products during the current financial year, the release added.
