Airlines Paramount plans services to Mangalore, Kozhikode Out Bureau Tiruchi, June 1 Paramount Airways has planned to fly into international operations by 2011, according to its Managing Director, M. Thiagarajan. Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, Mr Thiagarajan said his airways, at present, accounted for five aircraft and operated 42 daily flights in eight sectors. Paramount currently connects Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Visakhapatnam. At present the strategy for airline, which enjoys a 26 per cent market share in the South, is to consolidate and strengthen its position in the region and, hence, it has restricted its operations to South Indian cities. “Kozhikode and Mangalore are very much on our list and will be put on the Paramount Airways map by early 2009.” Route to westThe airlines plans to fly to cities in western India in 2009 and to northern and north eastern India by 2010. Referring to the future strategy, Mr Thiagarajan said, “We plan to add one aircraft every month; Paramount’s fleet strength will be 40 by 2010”.
