PNB to beat June 30 deadline

New Delhi, June 4

Punjab National Bank plans to complete implementation of the debt waiver and debt relief scheme for farmers by June 18, much ahead of the June 30 deadline set by the Government. As many as 5.3 lakh farmers are expected to benefit .

The bank had, on Tuesday, organised a seminar on the scheme to sensitise its senior officers, circle heads and field level functionaries for its timely implementation. The Financial Sector Secretary, Mr Arun Ramanathan, inaugurated the seminar in the presence of Dr K.C. Chakrabarty, Chairman and Managing Director. - Our Bureau
