RRB employees plan strike
Kolkata, June 5
About 69,000 officers and employees of 88 Regional
Rural Banks (Gramin Banks) plan to observe three
days' continuous strike starting June 16, according to a
press release issued by the Joint Forum of Gramin Bank
Unions. The Union has demanded implementation of
Banking Pension Settlement, 1993 and 1994 in RRBs,
parity with sponsor banks in payment of all other
allowances and benefits and service conditions, proper
and uniform manpower planning, recruitment, and a
promotion policy for the RRBs. - Our Bureau
