Strategy Fitness One to enhance presence Our Bureau Hyderabad, June 5 Chennai-based Fitness One, a health club that offers programmes ranging from gym, aerobics and yoga to dancercise and weight management packages, is planning to open 30 franchisee outlets during the current financial year. “Currently, we have 36 fitness centres across the country, while nine are company owned, seven are operated through franchisee model and the rest developed for corporate houses. During the fiscal we are looking at increasing both the franchisee outlets as well as our tie ups with corporate houses,” Mr Vivek Anand, Managing Director, Fitness One said at a press conference here. The company, on Thursday, opened its first fitness studio in the city and Mr Anand said that they are exploring the possibility of opening another three to four studios here this year. He also said that during the year they expect to tie-up with around 40 corporates setting up and running captive gyms. The company has recently ventured into the ‘home gym’ segment. Mr Anand said that the concept is all about delivering fitness at one’s doorstep. “If one cannot come to the gym, Fitness One will go to his home. We install and maintain fitness equipment at home and will also depute a trainer on a daily basis.” The home gym costs anywhere between Rs 50,000 and Rs 5 lakh, depending on one’s requirements. Fitness One, which currently has one training academy in Chennai is also looking at the possibility of opening more academies in other cities as the number of outlets increase.
