New Products & Services SSL-TTK unveils orthotic products range Our Bureau Chennai, June 5 SSL-TTK, a joint venture between SSL International plc of the UK and the TTK Group, has launched a range of orthotic products under the brand Orthaheel. The company’s UK parent acquired the Orthaheel brand last year from its founder Mr Philip Vasyli, Chairman of Vasyli International. Launching Orthaheel foot-care products here, Mr Vasyli said the new products would complement the existing Scholl range from SSL-TTK and would further strengthen the position of Scholl in the foot care market. He says that the basic premise on which Orthaheel products were developed is that while the human foot was originally designed to walk on soft natural surfaces, “we now walk on unnatural, hard and flat surfaces. It forces our heels to roll over to gain ground contact and as a result our arches flatten. This often disrupts normal knee function and hip alignment and increases forces on the muscles in the lower back,” said Mr Vasyli. This may, in turn, lead to a wide range of common complaints such as heel pain, ankle pain, knee pain and even back pain. Orthaheel’s patented orthotic products “would realign your feet to their natural position and improve the body posture, relieving you of many chronic pains in the process”, he said. A range of Orthaheel products are available in select large format retail stores, footwear stores and health and wellness stores across the country.
