Corporation Bank begins debt-waiver processes

Mangalore, June 5 Branches of Corporation Bank have commenced work relating to providing debt relief and waiver to farmers according to the scheme announced by the Government recently.

A bank release said here on Thursday that workshops have been held for the zonal heads and the branch managers to sensitise and to correctly identify the eligible beneficiaries and to complete the work according to the scheme guidelines. Doubts and clarifications of the operational personnel have been addressed. Scheme guidelines have been displayed at the branches of the bank.

The Chairman and Managing Director and senior executives of the bank have been visiting the rural and semi-urban branches to ensure that the scheme is implemented in all earnest according to the schedule given by the Finance Ministry and Reserve Bank of India. The bank is also releasing FAQs (frequently asked questions) through media at various places so that farmers are aware of the scheme guidelines and that the scheme is implemented with full transparency, the release added.
