New Delhi, June 6 National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) today signed a concession agreement with ETA-KMC consortium for six-laning of 225.6-km stretch in Gurgaon-Jaipur stretch.

The project cost for the section, which is on NH-8, is estimated at Rs 1,896.25 crore.

In a statement, NHAI said the project has been awarded on BOT (toll) basis on DBFO (Design-Build-Finance-Operate) pattern. The total project cost is Rs 1,896.25 crore and the concession period is 12 years including construction period of two and a half years.

The road operator (concessionaire) would share 48 per cent of revenue with NHAI initially (from the appointed date), which is basically the date when the consortium achieves financial closure. By the end of 12 years, the consortium will share 59.06 per cent of revenue to NHAI.

“We would be allowed to start collecting toll from the appointed date,” said a KMC official adding that the toll would be routed to an escrow account from which the revenue would be shared with NHAI.

There will be service roads on both sides all along the project with adequate provisions for bridges, flyovers/grade separators, pedestrians’ under-passes, and automatic traffic counter, variable message signs and closed circuit telephone cameras.

The agreement was signed by NHAI in presence of Mr N. Gokulram, Chairman, and other senior officials of NHAI with ETA-KMC consortium.
