Spot rubber hits Rs 127/kg

Aravindan

Kottayam, June 7 Rubber prices bounced back in the weekend session. The market seemed to be reacting to the news on sharp gains in crude oil prices, sources said. RSS 4 moved up to Rs 127 from Rs 124.50 a kg as covering groups and purchase agents continued to remain active in the main marketing centres. “The domestic rubber market now flares up on the basis of crude oil prices. This does not appear to a good tendency”, said Mr. N.Radhakrishnan, President, Cochin Rubber Merchants Association.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 127 (124.50); RSS-5: 121 (119.50); ungraded: 116.50 (114.50); ISNR 20: 118.50 (117) and latex 60 per cent: 83 (82.50).
