“The participation of women in public sphere has improved the functioning of the public institutions delivering the child services and reduced the discriminatory practices against women and children,” the report titled ‘Human Development Report - Andhra Pradesh’ released by the Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has said.

“The report throws light on the human development indicators and it encompasses human development indices, computed both for State and districts. The purpose of the report is to provide an independent and objective assessment of the status of human development,” a release from the Chief Minister’s office said.

The report hails Andhra Pradesh for a host of social movements.
