General engineering machines such as CNC lathes, milling and bending machines will feature prominently at the exhibition. Additionally, latest technology such as robotic tools to carry out ‘pick and place’ operations and hydraulics-based machines will also be showcased. Space constraintsFor the first time since its inception, the event will not feature electrical, electronic and computer-based products owing to space constraints, Mr Dilip Kumbhat, Chairman, ACMEE 2008, said at a meeting with journalists of the Hindu Group. The association does not plan to include these products in future events and would focus purely on machine tools. Mr D. Ravi, Convenor, ACMEE 2008, said, “Machine tool prices are crashing. A modern CNC lathe today costs about Rs 50 lakh (compared to a couple of crores of rupees a few years ago).” More Stories on : Events | Engineering
