New Projects States - Gujarat Anil Products to expand capacity, target Rs 50 cr exports in FY10 Our Bureau Ahmedabad, June 10 Anil Products Ltd (APL), one of India’s largest corn wet millers and leading manufacturer of starch, would expand its manufacturing capacity here for modified starch with an investment of nearly Rs 12crore over the next two years. The company plans to increase its existing production of 1,800 tonnes per month to 3,700 tonnes per month. APL is targeting modified starch exports of Rs 50 crore in 2009-2010. The capacity expansion will support APL’s export thrust and also help meet growing demand for modified starch in the Indian market. The APL Managing Director, Mr Amol Sheth, said here that the demand for modified starch is growing across customer segments in India and export markets in food, paper and textile industry. With more capacity for modified starch coming on stream, APL would position to capitalise on and monetise the emerging opportunities. APL export thrust for modified starch is aimed at West Asia, Europe and South-East Asia, especially countries having no indigenous manufacturers of modified starch. APL expects to close 2008 -09 with total revenues of Rs 300 crore. It is targeting revenue of Rs. 375 crore in 2009-2010 with about 13.5 per cent of it (Rs 50 crore) coming from exports.
