Jet, Etihad announce code share pact

Our Bureau

Mumbai, June 10 Indian private sector carrier Jet Airways has announced a code share agreement and frequent flyer programme with Etihad Airways, the national airline of United Arab Emirates, effective from July 1, subject to regulatory approval.

Addressing reporters, Mr Naresh Goyal, Chairman, Jet Airways, said, “This partnership will help the airlines increase their load factors and improve yields.”

While Etihad will place its code on all Jet Airways daily flights between Delhi and Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, the Indian carrier will do the same on the daily services operated by Etihad Airways on the same routes as well as on the UAE-carrier’s services between Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Abu Dhabi. The new code share services will be available for sale effective June 16.

Also, the passengers of both the airlines will be able to earn and redeem miles during their travel on these carriers.
