New Websense software

Coimbatore, June 11

A software that provides real-time security protection from Web 2.0 threats has been released by Websense.

The solution – Web Security Gateway – deploys Websense’s ThreatSeeker Network Identification Technologies on customer premise to identify and protect against threats found on the Web, states a Websense release. The security solutions provider assures that the solution would allow businesses use the Web and Web 2.0 technologies to advance their businesses in a safe environment by protecting essential information. According to Websense, the software categorises the actual content on Web sites, allows users access the sites while blocking portions of sites deemed inappropriate or at risk to security. On the need for such protection, the research director of Gartnerm, Mr Lawrence Owans, has said “the fundamental shift of Web content creation from trusted sources to anonymous and user-driven collaborations such as wikis, blogs and social networking sites has changed the threat landscape. Organisations have started to demand secure Web gateway solutions.” —
