Collect toll just once

Toll bridge charges are quite hefty. Moreover, collecting toll from every vehicle is a waste of precious fuel that is become increasingly costlier. When millions of vehicles apply the brakes to pay for toll charges, it results in the avoidable loss of fuel.

As per one survey, it is in the national interest not to levy toll charges from vehicles each time they pass through a toll-booth; instead, such a collection can be grouped with road tax, and charged just once for the life-time of a vehicle.

Even at the vehicle purchase stage, a fixed amount may be collected and used to build better roads, bridges, flyovers, etc. It will also help reduce administration costs involved in the collection of charges at toll plazas.
