Hyderabad, June 12

The National Academy of Construction (NAC) is aiming to train 50,000 people in 2008 in various construction trades.

“We have been given this target by Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and are confident of reaching it,” Mr F.C.S. Peter, Director-General, NAC, told newspersons here on Thursday. Last year, NAC trained 27,275 skilled and unskilled workers against a target of 30,000.

The Hyderabad-based academy also did away with a fee of Rs 10,000-12,000 for a three-month training course provided the sponsors are ready to foot the boarding bill.
