Our Bureau

Kolkata, June 12 Tata Agrico, a division of Tata Steel, has entered into an agreement with Tata BP Solar for distributing the latter’s solar products, primarily in the country’s rural hinterland.

According to a press release issued here by Tata Steel, the initiative is primarily aimed at meeting the needs of customers who are deprived of regular electricity supply owing to inadequate infrastructure. Tata Agrico shall leverage its distribution network in India to promote the solar products.

Both the companies will focus on products such as solar lanterns, streetlights and water heating systems. The partnership will take off from Bihar initially. A national rollout will follow subsequently, according to the release.
