Coimbatore hospital gets new equipment

Coimbatore, June 15 The ‘128 Slice Heart CT Scanner’ was inaugurated at the KG Hospital here on Sunday.

The equipment — Siemens’ SOMATOM Definition Adaptive (AS+) Scanner, said to be the world’s fastest and the first installation in Asia (excluding Japan) — was inaugurated by the Union Finance Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram.

The scanner, according to Mr D. Ragavan, Executive Vice-President, Siemens (Medical Solutions Division), is capable of routine diagnostic work and advanced examinations in cardiology, neurology and oncology.
