Wasteful expenditure

The grand women’s conference in Cuddalore must be viewed in the context of unprecedented rise in the prices of essential goods/inflation the Indian economy is experiencing now. First, is there any need at this point of time for such expenditure when the whole nation is battling rising prices?

Putting up huge posters, big banners, and, above all, the consumption of electricity involve a lot of unnecessary expenses. Had the money been spent on enhancing the production of agricultural and industrial goods or subsidising them, then it would have helped a great way in bringing relief to the people.
