Hyderabad, June 16 The Andhra Pradesh Government has got an assurance from Godavari Fertilizers Ltd (GFL) for the supply of the entire production of its di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) and complex fertilisers within the State.

“The Union Government has given its in-principle approval for this proposal and the company will supply its entire production from next month till the end of kharif season,” Mr Ponnam Prabhakar, Chairman, AP State Co-operative Marketing Federation Ltd (AP Markfed), said at a press conference here on Monday.

Govt estimates

According to the State Government estimates, GFL produces around 90,000 tonnes of DAP and around 70,000 tonnes of complex fertilisers.

According to Mr Prabhakar, the federation expects to distribute between 40 per cent and 50 per cent of the total requirement of the fertilisers in the State which is estimated to be around 32.5 lakh tonnes (lt). He added that the rest will be available to farmers in the open market through dealers.
