17 new Corp Bank branches in TN

Mangalore, June 16

Corporation Bank has plans to open 17 branches in Tamil Nadu, according to Mr B. Sambamurthy, Chairman and Managing Director of the bank. A bank release said here on Monday that he was speaking at the inauguration of the 999th branch of the bank at Sivaganga in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu recently. The bank has 102 branches in Tamil Nadu with a total business of around Rs 5,600 crore, and it has plans to open 17 more branches in the State shortly, he said. The bank is f ocusing on priority sector and education loans and has pioneered in introducing ‘online approvals’ so that the needy students are assured of funds for pursuing higher education
