K.S. Hegde centenary fete
Mangalore, June 16
The contributions of late Justice K.S. Hegde, who was
a Supreme Court judge and Speaker of Lok Sabha,
were highlighted at the launch of his birth centenary
celebrations here on Monday. Inaugurating the
celebrations, Mr L.K. Advani, Leader of the Opposition in
Lok Sabha, said that the thinking, conduct and behaviour
of Justice Hegde had made an influence in his life also.
Justice Hegde, who settled in Nitte village in Udupi
district after demitting office of the Lok Sabha Speaker,
chose to become one with the community and worked to
improve the life of common citizen, he said. Mr Justice
Y.V. Chandrachud, former Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court, and Mr Soli J. Sorabjee, former Attorney General
of India, spoke on the occasion. Mr N. Vinay Hegde,
President of Nitte Education Trust and Chancellor of
