Our Bureau Mangalore, June 16 Shell-MRPL (Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd) Aviation Fuels and Services Pvt Ltd (a 50:50 joint venture company between Shell and MRPL) has signed a two-year contract to supply aviation turbine fuel (ATF) to Jet Airways at the new Bangalore and Hyderabad airports. Quoting Mr Sanjay Varkey, Chief Executive Officer of Shell-MRPL Aviation Fuels and Services Pvt Ltd, a press release said here on Monday that it marked the beginning of the commercial partnerships of the joint venture with airlines in India. “We look forward to partnering with other airlines in the country in the coming months,” he said. Operational efficienciesMr Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO, Jet Airways, said that ATF being the cornerstone of an airline’s operations, the partnership will ensure optimal operational efficiencies for the airline in terms of reliable on-time supply of high-quality ATF. Value propositionMr R. Rajamani, Chairman of Shell-MRPL Aviation, said: “Shell-MRPL Aviation combines the strengths of Shell Aviation and MRPL to provide a unique value proposition that includes operational excellence, supply chain economics and stringent safety and quality measures.
