Agri-Biz & Commodities - Rubber
Spot rubber prices gain marginally

Aravindan

Kottayam, June 16 The rubber prices turned better on Monday. The domestic market made moderate gains inspired by another positive closing on global indices. RSS 4 finished at Rs 128.50 against Rs 128 a kg on the previous weekend.

The market rides on very low energy levels keeping a healthy gap between the domestic and global prices. The suspension of domestic futures and the resistance from the major manufactures might be the factors which control the speculative force in the trading circles, an observer said.

June contract up

RSS 3 (spot) improved to Rs 142.08 (141.09) a kg at Bangkok. The grade flared up at its June contract to ¥344.3 (Rs 136.53) from ¥335.8, July to ¥344.8 (336.5), August to ¥346.8 (336), September to ¥346.8 (335.6), October to ¥347 (337.7) and November to ¥348.3 (339.7) a kg at TOCOM.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 128.50 (128); RSS-5: 125 (124); ungraded: 122 (120.25); ISNR 20: 123 (121.50) and latex 60 per cent: 86 (85.50).
