Plea for gas pipeline

Madurai, June 18 The Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the State Government to take the initiative in laying a gas pipeline from Chennai to Tuticorin to sustain the overall industrial and economic development of the State.

Mr S. Rethinavelu, Chamber President, said that with the soaring international price of crude oil, there is an imperative need to accelerate the use of alternative energy, and use of natural gas has been perceived as the best and the most economical for the purpose in future, both in industrial and domestic use.
