Agri-Biz & Commodities - Rubber
Spot rubber declines

Aravindan

Kottayam, HJune 19 Spot rubber rates lost ground on Thursday. The international rubber futures turned lower as selling became dominant on late trading claiming the absence of fresh positive factors specific to rubber. This, in fact, hammered the domestic prices to further lows. RSS 4 moved down to Rs 126.50 a kg from Rs.127.75 a kg on Wednesday.

Certain major manufacturers were buyers on sheet rubber up to Rs 127 a kg during the morning session. But they withdrew from the market as TOCOM slipped to the minus territory after a firm start.

Resistance

According to sources, some dealers were sellers on the grade but the prices fell mainly on buyer resistance. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 126.50 (127.75); RSS-5: 123.50 (124); ungraded: 121.50 (122.25); ISNR 20: 122.50 (123) and latex 60 per cent: 86 (86)
