BSE board appoints Jagdish Capoor as Chairman

Mumbai, June 25 The Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday appointed Mr Jagdish Capoor as the Chairman of its Board. He is currently also the Chairman of HDFC Bank and earlier served as the deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India.

Last week, the Chairman, Mr Shekhar Datta, and the Director, Mr Jamshyd Godrej, had put in their resignations. The Board of Directors of BSE met on Wednesday and took note of the resignations of Mr Shekhar Datta and Mr Jamshyd Godrej as Directors of the Exchange, due to personal reasons, a BSE release said.
