Petroleum States - Tamil Nadu TN petrol dealers to restrict working hours Our Correspondent Madurai, June 27 Petroleum dealers in the State have resolved to restrict the working hours in their outlets. The decision was taken at an executive committee meeting of Tamil Nadu Petroleum Dealers Association, held in the city on Thursday. The respective district associations would fix the working hours according to the convenience of the local consumers, said MrM.Kannan, President of the association, in a press release. The dealers have resolved not to lift branded fuels from August 1, if compelled to sell the same volume of both the premium and ordinary fuels, sold in the corresponding month in the previous year. By yet another resolution, the meet resolved to minimise the loss in the sale of fuels, by restricting the sale to a minimum of one litre or above Rs 50, in consultation with the respective district associations. The meet emphasised further on the need to have different colour code for branded fuel dispensing pumps to enable the customers to differentiate between ordinary and branded fuels. It also demanded that oil companies should provide additional storage tanks for branded fuels. Wherever there is a single tank to store the fuels, the dealers should not be compelled to convert that for branded fuels. Any price hike of branded fuels and lubes should be informed by the oil companies well in advance to the public, the dealers demanded.
