The Kochi-based Sree Lekshmi Agencies has launched Pozzolica, a cement admixture in the Kerala market. Manufactured by KDM Chemicals and Research (Ankeleshwar, Gujarat), Pozzolica consists of high quality pozzolana, microsilica and other useful minerals. Priced at Rs 220 a bag of 35 kg, Pozzolica reduces the cost of construction and improves durability, strength and service life of the structure. It is finer than cement, reduces the alkali - aggregate reaction, improves r esistance to attack by sulphate in soil and sea water and reduces the overall load on foundation.
