OnMobile buys Telisma SA

Our Bureau

Bangalore, July 1 OnMobile Global Ltd, provider of Value Added Service (VAS) and data solutions for mobile, landline and media service providers, said it acquired speech recognition company Telisma SA for €11 million.

Telisma was created in August 2000 as a spin-off from France Telecom’s Research and Development Laboratory funded by European venture capital firms, OnMobile said in a statement.

The acquisition was funded by money raised from their initial public offering as well as internal accruals, said Mr Arvind Rao, Co-founder and Chief Executive, OnMobile.

He said the acquisition was done mostly to get the technology developed by Telisma. Telisma’s speech recognition products and expertise will enable OnMobile to grow faster.
