Rising inflation

To combat rising inflation, policy-makers must remove the man-made hurdles. First, what must be avoided is the herd instinct of the manufacturers to increase the prices, even though the rise in cost due to inflation has little impact on their cost structure.

The political parties, instead of trying to fish in troubled waters, must consolidate themselves and suggest ways and means to fight inflation and reduce its fallout on the economy.

The recent strike of the lorry operators will add fuel to the inflation fire and lead to hike in prices of food materials.

People should avoid wastage of food materials and use petro fuel products with care.
