Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) is continuing its thrust on value-added steels during the current financial year, as in 2007-08, according to a press release. During the first quarter, the steel plant produced 5.03 lakh tonnes of value-added steel, which is 72 per cent of its production of saleable steel of 7 lakh tonnes. The sales turnover during the first quarter was Rs 2,744 crore a gainst Rs 2,023 crore last year, registering a growth of 36 per cent, in spite of price stability exercised by RINL to control inflation as sought by the Union Government, adds the release.
