Terrorism cover for free

Coimbatore, July 2

click2insure has tied up with The New India Assurance Company to provide ‘terrorism cover’ to Indian citizens for free. The insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh is for a period of one year. Those seeking to avail themselves of this cover would have to route the proposal through click2insure, by filling all the vital information online. “The application would be processed online and the policy delivered within three hours to the applicant’s mailbox,” M r Rahul Aggarwal, Chief Executive Officer, click2insure.in, told Business Line.

The broking firm has restricted the free offer to one lakh policies on a first-come-first-served basis. Questioned on the reason for introducing such a cover, Mr Aggarwal said at last monthly meeting of brokers and insurance companies it was decided to join the fight against terrorism. The response to the product has been amazing, he said, adding that “more than 500 people have availed the cover in the last couple of days.” He did not reveal the company’s commitment towards the premium. –
