Chennai, July 2 Fuel situation eases in city

Fuel supply at various petrol bunks became normal in Chennai today as oil companies stepped up supply of petrol and diesel to the outlets.

At a press conference here today, senior officials of Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, gave assurances that the problem of short-supply had been solved and would not recur.

The problem was solved by asking Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd, whose refinery in Manali, Chennai, caters to Chennai and neighbouring districts, to supply more to the outlets of Bharat Petroleum.
