Engineering and construction company Larsen & Toubro Ltd has secured a Rs 446-crore order from JSW Power Transco Ltd for evacuation of power from the 1,200-MW power project being set up at Ratnagiri by JSW Energy (Ratnagiri) Ltd. The order is for setting up of 400 kv transmission lines - Jaigad to Karad and Jaigad to New Koyna - totalling 169 km. The work will be done by the transmission line business unit of ECC, which is L&T's Construction Division. An L&T release said the work involved survey, supply of components such as transmission line tower members, conductors, insulators and hardware accessories, besides construction of the line across the two sections.
