Outlook Bella Casa eyes renovation market for growth Bindu D. Menon New Delhi, July 7 Bella Casa India, a Rajan Raheja group company, is eyeing the nascent renovation market in a big way. The company is also scaling up its retail presence in the home improvement vertical by opening a slew of stores across the country. “We hope that renovation market will be a key vertical for us to grow. Consumers are aware of the trends in the global market and want to adopt the same. We hope all our stores will be a one-stop solution for a consumer’s needs,” Mr Ananth Narayan, Chief Executive Officer, Bella Casa, said. Retail ExpansionThe company is hoping to take its number from five stores to 200 in the next 10 years. Its value retail store ‘Tile Bazaar’ will also be scaled up to 100. Bella Casa stores cover an area of 4,000-6,000 sq ft, while Tile Bazaar has a store area of 400-1,600 sq ft. Mr Narayan, however, refused to divulge the investments to be made by the company in these projects. Riding on the boom in sectors such as infrastructure, realty and retail, the Rs 900-crore sanitaryware market is annually growing at 15-20 per cent. He said for Bella Casa, they were targeting couples in the age group of 25-40 with high disposable incomes and who would like to spend on beautifying their homes and Tile Bazaar would aim at lower to middle income consumers who want these products at reasonable rates. The group which also owns ceramic tiles company H & R Johnson and BCIL will draw synergies from its operations. “We hope that there will be lot of cross-selling in our stores since we have our backward integration intact.” Bella Casa stores will import and retail international range like shower panels from Huppe (Germany), baths from Twyford (UK) and wooden flooring from Egger.
