Our Bureau Bangalore, July 9 Tourism Malaysia plans to tap Indian software companies like Wipro to sell its weekend tourism packages. The Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board Director, Mr Manoharan, told newspersons on Wednesday that it was in talks with Wipro to sell its “short break” packages featuring five destinations in Malaysia. “These packages come in handy during long weekends because of extremely convenient air connections,” he said. Malaysian Tourism has tied up with Singapore Airlines to offer these packages which are priced as low as Rs 25,999 per passenger for three nights and four days. It includes travel to any of the five destinations in Malaysia, return airfare, airport transfers, accommodation in star hotels with breakfast and half-day sight seeing. Mr Manoharan said the tourism board expects at least 4,000 tourists to buy these packages during this month and the next. During 2007, over 4 lakh Indian tourists visited Malaysia, he said.
