Coimbatore, July 9 Apollo Sindhoori Capital Investments Ltd’s board of directors, which on November 21, 2007 had proposed to privately place 6, 64,800 shares of Rs10 each and for which the approval of the shareholders was also obtained, has now decided not to proceed with it.

Birla Corporation Ltd has informed that following the signing of tripartite agreement among the labour unions, the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal, and the company, the suspension of operations at the Durgapur cement plant has been lifted with effect from from July 9 and operations are expected to begin shortly.

DS Kulkarni Developers Ltd (DSKDL) and ICICI Prudential PMS Real Estate Portfolio (ICICI Pru PMS) have entered into a joint venture to develop a premium high-end residential project at Bangalore. ICICI Pru PMS has invested Rs 35 crore in the venture, DSK Southern Projects Pvt Ltd, at the land acquisition stage. The venture shall be equally owned by DSKDL and ICICI Pru PMS.

Godrej Industries Ltd has convened a meeting of the board of directors on July 29 to consider buyback of equity shares subject to approval of shareholders in the AGM scheduled on the same day for amendment of Articles of Association of the Company permitting the company to buyback its shares.

ICI India Ltd has said that a meeting of the board of directors will be held on July 17 to consider a fresh proposal to buy back its shares from minority shareholders through market operations at a price not exceeding Rs 575 a share or such other limits as may be approved by the board of directors.

Madras Aluminium Co Ltd has said that the board of directors has approved July 24 as the record date for the subdivision of equity shares of Rs 10 each into shares of Rs 2 each.

Nissan Copper Ltd has said that the meeting of the board of directors on July 18 would finalise the expansion and modernisation of Silvassa plant for making inner groove copper tubes and LWC coils.
