Our Bureau

Thiruvananthapuram, July 11 City-based Asian School of Business will move into its own campus in the second half of next year. The B-school, which currently operates out of leased space in Technopark Thiruvananthapuram, will move to a 16-acre campus in the suburbs of the city, said Mr G. Vijaya Raghavan, Member-Secretary, Board of Governors, Asian School of Business (ASB).

The total investment in the ASB campus is expected to be around Rs 63 crore, spread over three stages, he added.

Investment in the first stage, scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year, will be approximately Rs 30 crore. Once this stage is completed, the ASB campus will have classrooms to accommodate 200 students, conference facilities, a library, a hostel to accommodate 150 students, a guest house, a cafeteria and recreation facilities.

Phase two

Once the second stage of the campus is completed in about three years, ASB will have additional classrooms and more accommodation for students and staff. Once phase two of the campus is built, the plan is to have an entrepreneur development centre and a management development centre to offer residential training programmes for senior executives, Mr Vijaya Raghavan said. The institute also plans to start a business incubator in the next few years, he added.

Course plan

ASB currently offers a two-year, full-time post-graduate programme in management. It also conducts several short-term management-oriented training programmes.

The institute has plans to offer a part-time management programme for professionals from the software industry and would also like to take up consulting assignments, he said.
