Conference on textiles

Coimbatore, July 11

The Avinashilingam University for Women, Coimbatore, and Texas Tech University will organise an international conference on Advances in Textiles, Machinery, Non-woven and Technical Textiles (ATNT-2008) at Coimbatore on July 14-16. The Indian textile industry has been facing problems caused by high input costs, fluctuation in value of US currency etc and the lack of diversification and reluctance to expand to new sectors such as technical textiles and non-wovens have led to a slowdown in the industry. The conference would help infuse knowledge and capital resources and help in forming foreign collaborations to propel the growth of technical textiles in the country. - Our Bureau
